Breve presentazione della CASA EDITRICE SZÉPHALOM (FONDAZIONE DEGLI SCRITTORI)      La nostra casa editrice e stata fondata, come casa editrice propria degli scrittori, dal Sindacato degli Scrittori nel momento dell'allentamento della censura politica, nel 1988. E' stata realizzata prima di tutto per presentare la letteratura ungherese contemporanea, pero con il passare del tempo abbiamo pubblicato anche numerosi libri di argomento storico, filosofico, sociologico e giornalistico, nonché opere dedicate alla gioventu e ai bambini, e inoltre abbiamo iniziato a presentare in apposite collane anche nuove opere poetiche e prosastiche della produzione letteraria europea contemporanea. Fino ad oggi abbiamo gia pubblicato piu di 400 titoli, tra i nostri autori troviamo numerosi scrittori e poeti eccellenti di tutte le tendenze e di tutte le generazioni della letteratura ungherese odierna. Riserviamo particolare attenzione anche alle opere della nuova generazione emergente di scrittori e traduttori.      Sin dal 1988 pubblichiamo regolarmente il volume caratteristico e importante della Széphalom, l'Almanacco della Letteratura Ungherese, che e il catalogo degli eventi e delle istituzioni della vita letteraria ungherese e l'elenco degli scrittori ungheresi viventi entro e fuori le frontiere, uscente con dati controllati ed aggiornati di anno in anno e raggiungibili tra poco anche sull'Internet.      E' un'impresa notevole della nostra casa editrice la pubblicazione di tutte le opere della scrittrice, premio Kossuth, Anna Jókai Fino ad ora sono usciti dieci suoi volumi, tra cui in 13 edizioni con una tiratura di 30.000 copie il romanzo intitolato "Non avete paura" che e il libro dei modi di affrontare il processo dell'invecchiamento e della morte: e costituito di "storie parallele" di due coppie di sposati, la scrittrice rappresenta gli ultimi decenni della vita delle coppie con un metodo straordinario: quasi esclusivamente con monologhi intimi. Questo romanzo negli ultimi anni e stato tradotto anche in polacco, ceco, rumeno, bulgaro e tedesco (Das Licht für die Welt) e nel 1998 si e aggiudicato il premio del Libro dell'Anno. Altri volumi importanti della collana: Rosso e rosso (due romanzi) 1994, Tre (tre saggi) 1995, Il compito (romanzo), Fino alla morte (romanzo) 1996, Star insieme (romanzo), La radice e la fronda (saggi e preghiere apocrife) 1997, 4447 (romanzo), Dare ed avere (romanzo) 1999, Povera Anna Sudár (romanzo) 2000, Giorni (romanzo) 2001, Il braccio della bilancia, volume I, (saggi e scritti giornalistici) 2002. László Krasznahorkai appartenente alla generazione di mezza eta, gia alla meta degli anni Ottanta si e distinto per il suo prestigio dagli altri nostri scrittori. I suoi libri vengono pubblicati dalla Széphalom dal 1992 (Il prigioniero di Urga 1992, Generalita-Teseo 1993, Tango di satana - seconda e terza edizione 1993, 2002). La seconda edizione della Malinconia della resistenza e uscita alla Settimana del Libro del 1999, la terza edizione invece nell'estate del 2001, parallelamente alla presentazione del suo adattamento cinematografico di grande successo, diretto dall'eccellente regista ungherese Béla Tarr, il lungometraggio tratto dal romanzo (Le armonie di Werckmeister) nel 2001 si e aggiudicato il Gran Premio della Rassegna Cinematografica Ungherese. Nei primi mesi del 2002 abbiamo pubblicato un volume di scelti saggi e critiche ungheresi e tedeschi sulle opere di Krasznahorkai. Sempre sull'iniziativa e con la collaborazione della nostra casa editrice il primo romanzo di grande portata, il Tango di satana, dello scrittore e stato tradotto in francese ed e stato anche pubblicato dall'Edition Gallimard nell'estate del 2000. Dallo stesso romanzo sempre il regista Béla Tarr ha girato un film straordinario di sette ore e mezzo che pure puo vantarsi di vari premi di numerosi festival. Rientra nell'argomento della storia della civilta e della filosofia la grande impresa della Széphalom, e cioe la cura e la pubblicazione di tutte le opere rimaste in lascito manoscritto di Nándor Várkonyi grande filosofo accantonato precedentemente per decenni. Fino ad adesso abbiamo messo a disposizione dei lettori otto volumi: nel 1994 e uscito il Paradiso perduto che e uno scritto polemico di grande portata sulle tesi dell'ideologia e della filosofia del materialismo volgare; la sua opera di tre volumi Il quinto uomo, uscito tra il 1995 e il 1997, prende in esame la storia delle ideologie dell'umanita e fa un tentativo di percorrere i punti d'incrocio e le vie cieche spirituali dei tempi moderni; quest'opera analizza a lungo e in saggi chiari e tondi i filosofi latini, i mistici, i dottori della Chiesa italiani del Medioevo, i grandi autori italiani del Rinascimento e del Barocco (Plinio, San Tommaso d'Aquino, San Francesco d'Assisi, Dante, Macchiavelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Galileo Galilei, ecc.). Poi, questo e stato seguito dai due libri del della Scienza magica (il Mondo nascosto e l'Uomo nascosto) nel 1998-2000. Nel febbraio del 2001 abbiamo pubblicato la sua analisi scientifica intitolata La storia della scrittura e del libro. All'autunno del 2002 e uscito il testo integrale, ricostruito dell'opera intitolata Le colonne di Siriat, precedentemente censurata, che e il libro piu conosciuto e preferito del pubblico: e che indaga le cause geologiche e cosmologiche delle migrazioni dei popoli della Preistoria e si occupa della questione dei continenti spariti. Il suo argomento e sempre piu attuale nei nostri giorni, quando le ricerche genetiche con l'aiuto dei marcanti del DNA stanno per dire l'ultima parola riguardo alla questione della diversita della popolazione umana: le singole migrazioni preistoriche e quelle avvenute gia durante la storia e la storia della discendenza dell'umanita.      Per far conoscere le opere notevoli dei poeti e degli scrittori stranieri contemporanei abbiamo iniziato nel 1996 una collana, in cui fino ad ora abbiamo presentato ai lettori ungheresi tra l'altro le opere di poeti e scrittori belgi (fiamminghi e valloni), estoni, finlandesi, francesi, olandesi, islandesi, norvegesi, italiani e svedesi oramai in piu di venticinque volumi.      La nostra collana, partita nel 1995, intitolata Pesce d'oro, e arrivata al quindicesimo volume, in queste edizioni vengono presentate saggi scelti di storici di letteratura ungheresi contemporanei.      All'anniversario di Adam Mickiewicz abbiamo pubblicato il suo Libro del popolo polacco e dei pellegrini polacchi in lingua ungherese, polacca e francese.      Tra le opere di argomento storico abbiamo pubblicato una raccolta di 632 pagine di memorie polacche, intitolata Rapsodia dei profughi. Polacchi in Ungheria 1939-1945, con un supplemento ricco di fotografie e documenti d'archivio. In questo libro gli ex-abitanti ancora vivi dei piu di 250 campi di profughi civili e militari, degli orfanotrofi, delle scuole e dei collegi: i soldati di una volta e i profughi civili (donne, uomini e bambini polacchi ed ebrei) ricordano un bel periodo straordinario della storia della seconda guerra mondiale, in cui furono ben accolti in Ungheria.
